Accelerator Deadline EIC Greentech Accelerator
EIC Greentech Accelerator – a €300 million one-off call under the EIC Accelerator to support startups and SMEs to develop and scale breakthrough innovations that address at least one of the eight goals of The European Green Deal. This represents the largest ever funding round under the EIC pilot Deadline: May 19, 2020
A proposed update to the European Innovation Council (EIC) Pilot work program, under Horizon 2020 includes €350 million ‘green deal’ calls for game-changing, market-creating innovation contributing to the goals of The European Green Deal and the UN’ ‘s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The updated work program also provides new opportunities for startups and SMEs with women CEOs (or equivalent positions) under the EIC Accelerator. For more information on the draft work program, see below.
The European Green Deal provides a roadmap with actions to boost the efficient use of resources by moving to a clean, circular economy and stop climate change, revert biodiversity loss, and cut pollution. It outlines the investments needed and financing tools available and explains how to ensure a just and inclusive transition.
The European Green Deal covers all sectors of the economy, notably transport, energy, agriculture, buildings, and industries such as steel, cement, ICT, textiles, and chemicals.
The Green Deal Communication sets the path for action in the months and years ahead. The Commission’s future work will be guided by the public’s demand for action and by undeniable scientific evidence as demonstrated most comprehensively by IPCC, IPBES, Global Resources Outlook, and EEA SOER 2019 report. Our proposals will be evidence-based and underpinned by broad consultation.
